Choosing Quality Child Care
Virginia Child Care Quality System
In response to state law, Virginia developed the Unified Virginia Quality Birth to Five System (VQB5) to measure and strengthen the quality of all publicly-funded birth-to-five classrooms and to support families in choosing quality programming across program types. While all programs serving children whose care is paid for with a child care subsidy are required to participate in VQB5, all programs can voluntarily join the VQB5 system.
